Initial After-Care: Although you can go home immediately after the surgery, it is still advised to take it easy after the procedure, for at least a week.
To aid healing you can do a number of things;
- Ice the area to reduce swelling
- Avoid lifting anything moderately heavy in the first few days
- Avoid reaching over your head in the first few days
- Wear a supportive bra for 2-3 weeks after surgery
Back to work: As a relatively non-invasive treatment, recovery time for this procedure is quite short. Mr Marando will check the healing process after procedure with a follow up appointment 1-2 weeks after your surgery, and can help tailor your exercise and work regime to suit you. Depending on what work you do, you should be able to return to work quickly after the procedure, most patients going back after a few days to a week.
Physical exercise: Although it is important to keep the blood flowing, exercise should be kept low key with a lower heart rate for the first couple of weeks to aid healing and to reduce any further bruising.
Fading of scars: Dis-solvable stitches mean there is no removing of stitches and scars fade relatively quickly.
